So, when the pressure to produce pieces of work with more elaborate language and analysis was apparent, I opted out of school. I remember struggling to read as a child, and used to feel adrenaline rushes when it came to reading out loud in class, silently pleading for her not to pick me.Īlthough I developed my own coping strategies as the years went by, my strategies only took me so far. I tended to be top streamed for most subjects, but regarded as somewhat lazy when it came to producing written work.
